Approximately 24,000 registered representatives at the seventeen member firms of New York City-based Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) saw their average annual production in 2008 drop 17.1% to $441,357, down from $532,394 in 2007, and saw their average earnings fall 8.1% to $194,262, down from $211,427, according to SIFMA’s 2008 Production and Earnings Report. Among those corporations included in the report were BB&T Corp., Edward Jones, Merrill Lynch and Raymond James and Associates.

REGISTERED REPS’ PRODUCTION AND EARNINGS FELL IN 2008
